Why We're Building a Healing Center in Rural Kansas

At twenty years old, I was told I had four years to live without open-heart surgery. That sentence sent me down a road I have now walked for more than two decades: studying how the body heals, what supports it, and why so much of what actually helps people sits locked behind prices most families can’t touch.

Here is the math that made me build instead of travel. The destination healing retreats that offer serious therapies, the hyperbaric oxygen, the sauna protocols, the residential stays, run $5,000 to $20,000 for a single week. Some people fly overseas just to afford hyperbaric sessions. Meanwhile, chronic disease rates in rural America run measurably higher than in the cities, and the people searching hardest for effective ways to regain their health have almost nowhere local to turn.

So we are building it here. In Plainville, Kansas, in the bones of the former Shaw Hotel, a 9,000 square foot healing center is taking shape: seven studio apartments for therapeutic residencies, a full therapy floor, an organic juice bar, and a refill market. Priced for working families. Built on education, because the goal is never to make you dependent on a facility. The goal is for you to own your health.
